A fine quality antique shell cameo dating to the late 19th century, mounted in 9ct rose gold. This sweet piece depicts a classical female in profile. The cameos was probably carved in Italy in the Classical style, which was so popular then. With an open back setting. Flanked by acanthus leaf style shoulders, on a plain shank. The cameo measures 18 mm x 9 mm. With maker’s mark HB&S. A beautiful example of antique English jewellery, inspired by The Grand Tour.
